Who We serve
At Wrap of Care Ministries Uganda, we are dedicated to supporting vulnerable children who face significant challenges in their daily lives. We focus on restoring hope, dignity, education, and opportunity to children who need it most.
1. Orphans
We serve children who have lost one or both parents and are struggling to access education, basic needs, care, and protection. Through sponsorship, educational support, and welfare assistance, we help them build a brighter future.
2. Children in Child-Headed Families
We support children who are forced to take on adult responsibilities after the loss or absence of parents. These young caregivers often struggle to provide food, education, and care for their siblings. We walk alongside them with practical support, mentorship, and hope.
3. Abandoned and Neglected Children
We reach out to children who have been abandoned, neglected, or left without proper care and support. Our goal is to ensure they have access to education, protection, and opportunities .
4. Recent statistics reveal the urgency of this need:
- Approximately 2.9 million children in Uganda are orphans, representing about 13% of the country’s child population.
- Uganda is home to millions of vulnerable children who are at risk of abuse, exploitation, child labor, and school dropout. UNICEF estimates that more than 8 million children are vulnerable to harm.
- Child-headed and youth-headed households continue to rise as children are forced to take responsibility for siblings after losing parents or caregivers. Recent reports indicate that over 12% of households are headed by young people aged 15–24, reflecting the growing burden placed on vulnerable children.
- Many children also live on the streets, in unstable family environments, or with disabilities that limit their access to education and opportunities.
5. Why This Matters
When a vulnerable child is denied education, healthcare, protection, and emotional support, the effects extend far beyond that child. Communities lose future leaders, families remain trapped in poverty, and cycles of hardship continue from one generation to the next.
However, when a child receives care, mentorship, education, and hope, everything can change. A supported child is more likely to stay in school, avoid exploitation, develop life skills, and become a productive member of society.
At Wrap of Care, we see vulnerable children not as statistics but as future teachers, doctors, entrepreneurs, pastors, leaders, and nation-builders. By investing in their lives today, we are helping to create stronger families, healthier communities, and a brighter future for Uganda.
Who we are?
Wrap of Care Ministries Uganda we are a child-focused organization committed to restoring hope and creating opportunities for vulnerable children who face life without the support and care every child deserves.
We believe that every child has a God-given potential, regardless of their background or circumstances. Through education support, welfare care, mentorship, and compassionate intervention, we walk alongside orphaned, abandoned, and vulnerable children to help them build a brighter and more dignified future.
Mission and Vision
To restore hope and create lasting change for vulnerable children through education, care, protection, and community-based support programs.
Every vulnerable child educated, protected, and empowered for life.
Wrap of Care was born from a deep burden to see vulnerable children experience hope, love, and opportunity. This mission is deeply personal to Paul Mukisa the founder of Wrap of care who became a total orphan after losing his father at the age of one and his mother at the age of twelve. Following the loss of both parents, life became a daily struggle. Access to food, clothing, education, and other basic necessities was uncertain, and the dream of continuing school was constantly under threat.
For several years, these hardships became a painful reality until an opportunity arose to join Faith Children’s Home after the lose of his mother,at the children’s home care, support, and hope were restored. Experiencing both the pain of vulnerability and the life-changing impact of compassionate intervention created a lifelong passion to help other children facing similar circumstances.
Growing up and serving within communities where many children lacked access to education, basic necessities, and emotional support, we witnessed firsthand the struggles faced by orphans, abandoned children, child-headed families, and families living in poverty. These experiences ignited a passion to make a difference. What was once a personal journey of overcoming adversity became a calling to ensure that vulnerable children are given the same chance to dream, learn, and thrive.
Today, Wrap of Care exists because we believe that every vulnerable child deserves the opportunity to experience hope, dignity, and a brighter future, regardless of their circumstances.
What started as a small act of care has become a growing movement of providing hope,Education and welfare one child at a time .
